6 and up Japanese Jujusu program with Japanese Kenpo

I believe in a proper warm up with correct stretching for health. As I have grown older I have found that the instructors I had as a youth were right. To evade a strike is better than to block with force. However the young will as they do. We can only give them proper guidance and hope they follow it.

The Best of Blended Martial Arts Systems

Movement

Being yielding like water is an important part of life – it allows us to be flexible and move with
the ebbs and flows of life. At the same time, we also need to be firm like a stone, standing our
ground when needed and staying rooted to our values and beliefs. Ultimately, our heart, mind
and soul must be in alignment, so that we don’t let our emotions rule our actions and instead
choose to act with wisdom and compassion.

Belting up

Martial arts belts are marks of hard work and dedication and should not be taken
lightly. When you train, focus on yourself and the progress you are making. Everyone is on
their own journey and you should always strive to be the best version of yourself. Remember
that martial arts is not a competition, it’s a way of life.

Life

Being mindful of balance in life is an important part of being successful. It is important to be
both strong and smart, striving to maintain a healthy equilibrium between the two. By
realizing that you may sometimes be too hard or too soft, you are able to adjust to what is
best for the situation. This can help you to make more informed decisions, and ensure that
you are well equipped for the challenges that come your way.

Martial Arts Styles

Choosing the right martial art for you is a personal journey. Consider what your goals are do you want to learn self-defense, compete in tournaments, get in shape, or simply learn
something new? Different martial arts focus on different aspects, and it’s important to
choose the one that best fits your goals and interests. Take some time to research the
different martial arts available and find one that resonates with you. Once you’ve done your
research, give it a try and see how it fits for you. Remember that martial arts is about personal
growth and improvement, so don’t worry about competing with others – focus on competing
with yourself and pushing yourself to be the best you can be.

Balance

Having balance in life helps us to stay focused and be strong in our decisions
and actions. When we are balanced, we are more likely to make wise choices and be more
successful.

Health

Exercise and stretching are such important components of overall health. Not
only does it help keep your body strong and agile, but it also helps improve your mental
health and boost your mood. Regular exercise and stretching can help you feel more
energetic and increase your lifespan. Taking the time to invest in your physical health can
truly be life changing!

What People Are Saying

My Island Martial Arts is great for both of my kids. Steve teaches strikes, grappling and blocks in Kenpo Jiujitsu and my boys are developing their skills very quickly. This is the only studio I have found that offers Saturday lessons which work perfectly for our busy schedule.

Great studio! The owner was kind and patient with my kids. They couldn’t wait to go back the following week and learn more. I would definitely recommend giving them a try!
