Ms.Burke is an incredible instructor in Ten To Ji Japanese Kenpo Jujutsu but also life skills,if you want a studio that's not too violent and teaches your kids to be honest and disciplined than take them to M.Y Ten To Ji Japanese Kenpo Jujutsu studio!!!!!!
We are so grateful to have joined My Island Martial Arts! Everyone is knowledgeable, accommodating, and personable. I am a busy working mom who is able to take classes alongside my 4 yr old; I get to learn and exercise while bonding with my child! I absolutely recomend this place.

This has been great for my kid. The owners are clearly passionate about what they're doing. They pay attention to the students and get to know them.
My only regret is honestly that we did not sign up earlier. My son had been asking to do Ten To Ji Japanese Kenpo Jujutsu for about a year and I looked around at a lot of different places. Of course cost was a consideration but more importantly I wanted to make sure I found a good match for him. A place where they were concerned about form and technique but also my son as a person. I cannot say enough good things about the entire staff here. They are kind but hold my son accountable. They have incredible communication. We are a few months in at this point and he talks about what he learns and practices CONSTANTLY. It is so much more than just kicks and punches. I cannot recommend them enough.
I love coming here to learn how to defend myself. The teaching by Master Ross and Sensei Maison is amazing and I learn so much. I have also made new friendships and had new experiences thanks to this place. Definitely recommend it.

My boys have been apart of MIMA with Master Ross for a little over a year now, and they both have such a great time. They have both learned so much from him and Sensei Mason. Shellie is always so warm and welcoming.

My Island Martial Arts has been fantastic for my son! Master Ross is an exceptional instructor and has more patience than any one man should have! The environment is welcoming and the teachings are well thought out with progression at his pace. My son looks forward everyday to learning and progressing his skills and I love the respect and life skills he is learning each class.
Master Ross and his family are awesome with the kids. My son loves taking classes here. The new space in the MI Mall gives them plenty of room for all levels of instruction, from beginner to black belt.
My son has been to about 30 classes and I have nothing but positive things to say about Master Ross and Mrs. Shelly. They are great with the kids and I’ve personally witnessed so much progress in my son. From the very first day Mrs. Shelly has been extremely helpful in answering any questions I’ve had, to making sure that my son always has what he needs. Master Ross is patient with the kids, and most importantly extremely consistent with their routine allowing them to constantly add onto their skills. They both work extremely hard to bring to our community an absolute asset for children and families at an affordable price. Thank you Mrs. Shelly and Master Ross!

We absolutely love Master Ross and his family they have been very patient and have taken the time to work with my son on the skills and safety he needs to be successful in this art form. Bradley talks non stop about his lessons and loves to show his new skills to everyone whenever he can. Since starting jujitsu with Master Ross Bradley has had a huge self confidence boost after Master Ross shared the wisdom of Albert Einstein with him (“ A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”)Bradley truly has taken this to heart and has not only become more confident in himself but has also been incredibly brave and has been trying new foods.
